Happy Birthday Mum!!!!

Last Saturday only a couple of days ago... 2nd July was my beautiful Mother's birthday. We all decided to go to Yum Cha at Chatswood for the birthday celebrations. Finally we all met up outside where I gave my brother Cam three Easter eggs which I had saved for him and his girlfriend. He was quite surprised because he wasn't quite expecting it. We managed to get a table really quickly which was lucky. We've all been there before where the queue for the table is about half an hour long or so which hasn't been good.

Upon being seated we decided to exchange the birthday presents to my Mum which was great. From my brother Cam and his girlfriend Rachael Mum got a reasonably large Cupie doll which was as it turns out in a chef's costume. My Mum was so happy because she collects chefs and can put it in her now growing collection. I gave Mum two wooden statue type angels with one saying 'love' and the other saying 'peace'. Yet I don't think Dad gave her a present there but did at home in the morning. I forgot to ask what he got her yet I'll find out. All in all she loved all the presents that she got.

Soon after we managed to get some food from the trolley's which were going around. After about ten minutes we had several different plates on the table including a pot of Chinese tea to share, fried squid, prawn rolls, pork buns, spring rolls, other rolls with prawn and garlic, some type of noodles, eggplant with fish roll thing, a Peking duck pancake each and quite a few other items also that I quite can't remember what they were. I also right at the very end saw some chickens feet which I wanted to have but if i had anymore I would have burst. For dessert we shared a coconut jelly with red beans in it and also we had some mango type of pudding with a bit of condensed milk on it. By the time we had all finished we were so full that we could have rolled out like balls out of the restaurant.

Before we all went out into the big wide world again I managed to take a couple of family photos just to remember the occasion. Yes an occasion of a birthday family get-together where sharing food and most of all company is one of the best things to do. Yes my Mum has another year of wisdom and experience underneath her belt yet it is still great to have her here. I realised something this afternoon... That last Tuesday night as I was writing my blog from last week some-one very special to a lot of people was losing their battle with life. It was strange as I was writing my blog about my parents growing older...that she - Val had passed over into God's hands. So thinking about it tonight I am so glad and grateful to still have my special Mum alive. Also not to forget my Dad as well who is still going along strong.

So I am so glad that my dear special Mum has had a very Happy Birthday surrounded by family for some of the day!! Also Mum as each year passes I am appreciating you more and I am very lucky to have a Mum like you. I pray that you may have many more happy birthday years ahead of you... Farewell for now....

Happy Birthday Today Dad!!!

Hey there friends!! Today is a super special day today in a few more ways then one. My Dad was born on this day many years ago which was way before my time. Or even he knew that he was going to be a father as well. Also letting you know that it wasn't my Dad's birthday to day yet it was his mothers birthday as well. His mother happened to be my Grandmother who kept her Scottish accent up until she died. So we used to celebrate both birthday's on that day up until a few years ago. Yet my Grandma is still remembered even though she has passed away.

Talking of my birthday's and my Grandma...she so much wanted a daughter after having a couple of boys. She even picked out a girls name for the baby to be. There won't be any prizes for those who guess right yet I'd like to hear what your guess's are... So please let me know....
Anyway as history tells a little baby boy was born to my Grandparents.

Many years have past where he had many and also experiences in his journey. He went to college where he met his wife who is now my Mum. A bit of time passed and they had two kids including me. No his life as a Dad has been interesting and hard also testing sometimes. That's been from me being his daughter I think having Asperger's. Yet my brother and I combined have given them both a few grey hairs.

I got a bit sidelined there yet the bottom line is he is the best Dad out. Sure over the years we have had our disagreements as father and daughter yet I still love him! For anyone who's read my book you can testify to that. So my Dad, my old young man, my father I wish you the best Happy Birthday out!! Love your only daughter....Megan... oxoxoxoxxooxox

My Birthday A Week Ago Today!!

This time a week ago on Wednesday the 8th of September it was my Birthday! At around this time I was relaxing after such a big day watching a bit of television with the programme "RPA". Yet with that I was so glad that I had something to eat before that.
With the morning of my birthday I didn't have much of a sleep~in because my honey called me to sing me "Happy Birthday!". I went up to beaches and caught up with a friend of mine who gave me a really nice card and also a really colourful mat. Then after we went to a really healthy cafe where I decided to have a chai tea latte and a rhubarb/pear crumble with some really fresh yoghurt. She had a bacon/eggs and bread which was all organic. When the chai latte came out it was in a small bowl which totally amazed me! My face said it all.....totally surprised!!
After lunch we went to Warriewood Cinema's and saw the movie "Salt" with Angelina Jolie in it. The movie was totally action packed and kept you guessing. Caz thought it was a bit far fetched yet I didn't mind because it got me thinking. Some parts of it were a bit jumpy yet at least I didn't cry in it...which was good.
After the movie we decided to have a bit of a quiet time because Caz wasn't feeling so good. I was hoping that she'd be well enough to come out for dinner with my parents for dinner. When the time came for dinner I went by myself to the Chinese restaurant to meet my parents. For dinner we had everything duck...duck pancakes and a couple of other dishes. Both my Dad and I had desert which was lychee's and ice-cream. I also gave my Mum a little present to her which I've been wanting to give to her. She saw it and loved it which was great and meant so much to me which was good to see.
I fare~welled my parents and went back to where I was staying. I quickly checked my emails and also my Facebook. I was amazed to find so many posts for me on my profile. All of them nearly brought me to tears with who remembered my birthday. Sure I didn't see or hear from my brother (I didn't hear from him until late Monday night.) That day I still found it an amazing and also very special day sharing it with people I cared most about. Because for me each birthday is a blessed day for me and an extra day at life and living in it...
So...A big Happy Birthday to me!!! Yay!!!
